Wheel House Festival September 13 & 14 2013
Opti-Park in Broad Ripple
The 1st annual WheelHouse Festival is set for Friday & Saturday September 13 – 14 in the Broad Ripple Village. Focusing on DJs & Electronic music, it will be the first festival of its kind in Indianapolis. By combining some of the biggest names in Electronic Music, along with some of the region’s top up and coming djs, the Wheel House Festival will be right in the sweet spot of EDM fans, not only in Indianapolis, but across the Midwest as well.
The idea of the festival came as Vogue Theater talent buyer Matt Schwegman & Keepin It Deep owner DJ, Slater Hogan were chatting over ideas for a one day event. “Next thing we knew, we had offers going out to multiple DJ acts, and it quickly turned into a 2 day event” said Schwegman. The name Wheel House stemmed from the fact that Opti-Park, which is host to many outdoor concerts, is also home to a great Little League baseball field. Not only is the term “Wheel House” referred to as the sweet spot of a hitters strike zone and the area where he/she can hit for the most power, but as Hogan put it “We felt that this term referred to type of festival we would put on, and that it would be the sweet spot for area electronic music fans”.
Acts that will be performing include: Paul Oakenfold, Wolfgang Gartner, The Crystal Method, Flosstradamus, Keys N Krates, Figure, Salva , Slater Hogan, Shy Guy Says, DJ Gabby Love, DJ Lockstar, Cadillac G and many more local & regional acts along with a few big surprises.
On top of the outdoor festival aspect, Wheel House Festival will be hosting official after parties at The Vogue Theater in Broad Ripple. Acts include: Bad Boy Bill, Richard Vission, Tritonal, & Topher Jones.
Ticket Prices for the 2 day event are $35 for single day tickets, or $60 for a 2 day pass.
After Party Events will be $20, (and 21+ only)
There will be a Super Ticket – 2 day Fest & After party ticket available for $90 (available to 21+ patrons only). Patron will have access to attend all of the events.
Tickets go on sale Wednesday July 3 at 10am EST through Ticketfly.com, Thevogue.com, Indy CD & Vinyl & The Vogue Theater Box Office.
Wednesday January 30 will mark the last ever RETRO REWIND at The Vogue. This Wednesday night dance party has been a staple of the Indianapolis Nightlife scene for over 15 years. Most people probably have a story or 2 about the infamous Retro Rewind. In fact, if you have a funny story of a Retro night, post in the comments below. Don’t worry though, The Vogue will be launching an all new party called GLOW WEDNESDAYS. We will be throwing the city’s biggest & best Black Light Party every single Wednesday night. We will continue to keep a lot of that same retro music in the format. Playing everything from the 1990’s & beyond. It will be part Neon paint party, part warehouse rave, but 100% pandemonium every week. Glowsticks, neon attire, vacation giveaways, Specialty neon cocktails, glow in the dark dance team… and much more… you will have to see it to experience it!
This past September, we ran a contest in which fans had a chance to win a Lifetime FREE PASS to The Vogue. All they had to do was be one of the 1st 20 people to get a Vogue ticket stub tattoed on their body! We recently were at a Ticketing & marketing Conference… and wouldnt you know it? We won an award for BEST MARKETING CAMPAIGN of 2012. Check out the fancy plaque here.
